Mike Petter

Chair Of The Board

Mike is a Chartered Civil Engineer by profession and has held senior executive positions within the UK construction industry. For the last 20 years he has delivered specialist consultancy advice in addition to undertaking various Non Executive Director appointments. These include on the board of the Local Learning & Skills Council, NED and Chair of an NHS Commissioner and Provider, a NED at Parliament and Chairing a Stakeholder Advisory Panel for SSEN. He also served as a Director and Chairman of The Considerate Constructors Scheme.

Mike first worked within the housing sector as a Non Executive Director of Guinness Hermitage before going on to become Deputy Chair of The Guinness Partnership. On completion of his term at Guinness he joined Curo Housing Association where he is currently Vice Chair of the Combined Board and Chair of Curo Enterprise. In September 2023 Mike joined Havant Housing Association as Chair of the Board. He is also a Trustee of The Fareham Well, a Christian grant making charity based in Fareham.

Mike is married with 3 children and 5 grandchildren. He can often be found either on the golf course or doing voluntary work for the Methodist Church.

Martin Large

Non Executive Director

Martin is an experienced housing and property leader with a long track record in social housing governance, investment and organisational leadership. Formerly CEO of the GLE Group, he has since served as a Non-Executive Director and/or Chair across a number of major housing associations, including Stonewater, Mount Green, Greenoak, Hexagon and Selwood. Martin brings particular expertise in governance, regulatory assurance, financial oversight and strategic growth, supporting Pinecrest Housing to operate to high standards of accountability, integrity and social purpose.

Kate Cariss

Non Executive Director

Kate has over 20 years’ experience in the affordable housing sector, working with organisations including Spectrum Housing Group, Abri, Aster and Vivid. Her work has included leading major strategic projects, asset and housing management, KPI and risk management, stock transfers and disposals. She is also recognised as a specialist in affordable housing development. As a Non-Executive Director, Kate supports Pinecrest Housing in maintaining strong governance, regulatory compliance and high-quality management of its homes and services.

Edward Van der Wee

Chief Executive Officer

As Chief Executive Officer and Executive Managing Director, Edward Van der Wee MCIOB provides overall leadership and strategic direction for the organisation. He brings extensive experience in business administration and the delivery of high-quality residential developments, and plays a key role in shaping corporate strategy, overseeing organisational performance, and representing the executive team within the Board’s decision-making processes.

Edward is guided by a clear ethos of doing things differently, placing people and quality at the forefront, working collaboratively with stakeholders, and delivering outstanding outcomes through exceptional customer service.

Fabio Macari

Executive Director

Fabio Macari is a founding Board Member of Pinecrest. Together with the Chief Executive, he is responsible for the day-to-day leadership and management of the organisation, ensuring strong governance, effective operations and the delivery of high-quality housing. Fabio has previously worked with corporate clients as a portfolio manager within the currency markets, developing experience in financial analysis, risk management and stakeholder engagement. He also holds an MSc in Construction Management, giving a strong technical understanding of development, construction and the built environment.

Donna Johnson

Head of Operations

Donna is a Head of Operations, with over seven years’ experience in the housing sector, supported by a strong background in asset management and hospitality. Known for a customer-focused and outcome-driven approach, Donna specialises in operational leadership, delivery of high-quality housing services and customer care. A cross-sector experience brings a balanced perspective that blends commercial awareness with a deep commitment to customer experience and organisational excellence.
